Previous verses contributed by me to this challenge.
- Satan's Sunrise
My second contribution.
- Spirits sat as Mourners (April Poetry Month challenge by Frank Atanacio)
A first verse I wrote to add to Frank's poem "Spirits sat as Mourners".
Come the Sentinel.
by John Hansen 2014
As April's soul rose from the grave
The demons crowded around.
Ghostly hands reached out to her,
Above consecrated ground.
The Sentinel surveyed the scene
From a tall dead oak nearby.
Then with a shrieking cry it swooped
Through the demonic funeral fray.
The spirits cried as if in pain,
As the black bird stole their prey.

What I Did at the End of Our Street is not biographical. It is however, a rather graphic expose on one of our society’s greatest problems.
One of my darker pieces of writing and social commentary on religion, people's morals, hypocritical attitudes, and murder.
Many people don't know the value of the plants around them. Do you see a dandelion as a weed spoiling the look of your lawn, or as a wild herb packed with vitamins? Everything in nature has a purpose.
