Commitments poem

He said he had commitments

You wait and watch the seasons pass

His hand so warm at times

Now you feel only a cold grasp

Stay here by my chair, my pet

Wait for what, she asked with regret

He stroked her hair one idle day

She looked up knowing what he would say

I am busy, have commitments but stay

She whispered against his knee

I have done that since last May

Dear Sir it is time for me to leave

He shrugged his shoulders when she walked to the door

For you see there were so many more

Hi B.A.

I'm not really a lover of poems although I have tried to write a couple.

I found this an absolute hit. Beautifully written and I think the young woman did the right thing.

LOL Ghaelach

Thanks for reading this poem, I appreciate you enjoying it even more so since you are not a lover of poetry.

You're right she did do the right thing and someday I may write a story about it. Thanks agan!

Thanks for reading. Sometimes a poem motivates me to write a story.
