Concerns About Our Country

Updated on January 29, 2017

Problems Brewing

A new president in office

Since January 20, 2017

Many changes taking place

My wife and I discussing the issues in the news

We both are shocked and interested in what is happening

Are the changes we hear and see making life better ?

There are ways to do things in attempt to correct problems and issues

When you look at the results

You hope the changes you see

Improves the quality of life for people and society

My wife watches the news and hears the protests

I try to keep an open mind

Looking at the bigger picture

Then I think why would someone do that ?

Is that neccessary ?

I keep thinking the issues we hear about are more complicated

In the news we are only hearing part of the story

As we continue on with our afternoon

Going to work and earning a day's pay

Wondering how these problems affect not just me but both of us

My wife and I already have had a few discussions

That have turned into heated arguments

So as two rational adults

We realize this is not healthy for either of us

We have decided to try to list the facts we hear

Next to each fact put each of our opinions and views

Keeping our views open to suggestions

This way we keep are emotions from escalating

We are discussing issues that we both have different views

Trying to keep it simple

I will list a couple of the issues we are discussing

We have made it this far

Better than last night

Where we raised our voices and lost control

This is a small step in the right direction

Hearing both sides of an issue

Our own poem

On a husband and wife debate

Who is right

Who is dead wrong

I heard this

That's not true

Just because it's in the news

It doesn't mean it happened that way ?

How else could it have happened ?

I don't know

I can't come up with an instant answer

The problems not just going to go away

Something has to be done

Bottom line

Nothing has to be decided right now

There might not be a perfect solution

We have to remember

Love keeps us together

Listening to the experts and their position

What if they don't know ?

We are learning more than before

No matter what the results may be

We have to get along

We have to have trust in each other

Respect and honesty is the key
