Confounded- a poem of despair
When will the hurting stop? When will human beings learn to live together in peace?

Confounded by thoughts of shallow men,
who at the seats of power do life condemn,
their decision made to advantage their cause,
despite the suffering and despite the laws,
that govern men within morality,
to protect the innocent and act in sanity.
Instead those men in power seek,
to adjust the world by their own critique,
for want and gain they move to act,
and as collateral damage, so many lives subtract.
In guise of hallowed, honourable cause,
they strike at resistance above the law,
and with flags a' flying they rouse support,
for deathly missions and evil resort.
While people mourn the death and destruction,
those leaders of destiny, revel in seduction,
carving life to suit their schemes,
despite morality or peaceful dreams.
Confounded by reckless, sociopathic men,
who see not the pain they inflict, instead,
see coffers filled and pleasures gained,
from power wielded and bloody rain.
Human flesh all broken and flayed,
by weapons dark and souls been paid,
blinded by political will,
humanity lost and bleeding still.
