Cookies: A Poem

Source

Warm and golden, they rise to greet you,

Baking to perfection in only 11 minutes,

Melted chocolate chips in a bed of flavorful dough,

Glide out of the oven and onto a cooling rack,

Soft and sweet, they hug your mouth with warmth,

As you wash them down with cold milk,

Everything is right in the world,

When eating cookies reminds you of home.

This poem really gave me that feeling of eating warm, delicious, home-made cookies!

A lovely reminder of the warmth of home and home-baked goodies.

As I read this, I remembered that I had a KFC chocolate chip cookie buried somewhere under my man-cave clutter of papers and research, so I dug it out and ate it as I enjoyed this superb little poem!

Wonderful work, Erin!

Indeed! Cookies, especially home made, are one of the perfect little pleasures of life. Yum.

I once wrote a story about the wonders of warm cookies, Erin:

Homemade cookies are the best when they are warm from the oven. It really does not matter what type of cookies they are because they really bring comfort and warmth to the heart. There is just something wonderful about cookies.

BlossomSB: Thank you! :)

WillStarr: I'm glad I could remind you of your cookie. Thanks so much!

Rochelle Frank: Yes, I was wanting to bake cookies while I wrote this. :)

North Wind: You're right! It's like the smell of them spreads around the house and makes it fill with love.
