Creator of the Devastation

O God, why do you cast me off forever?

Why does your anger smoke against the sheep of your pasture?

I feel so far away from you.

How long will you allow the suffering?

Why must I bear this pain?

The tears drown my bed.

Make this darkness go away.

You are the strength of my heart.

You are my portion forever.

Though I am overwhelmed with misery, I will serve you.

I will praise you with all that I am because

All that I am is from you and for your glory.

You created all the worlds and all in them.

You know of the devastation before I endure it.

You are Lord everlasting.

You are my Lord and

I thank you.

Very Powerful and age old questions that I too have asked along the way. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and love for God.

Beautiful and profound poem of the question of "why?" No matter what we are going through in this lifetime, yes, we are to still praise Him, as He is still in control. I am so thankful His ways are not our ways. We cannot be fair weather Christians and only praise Him when things are going our way.

Thanks you for this lovely poem to glorify our Lord God.

Voted up ++++ and sharing.

God bless. In His Love, Faith Reaper

Hi Icb,

Heart and soul calling out to the Lord, our God. The eternal questions and the passing through the refining fire and the storms of this life, BUT still we choose to serve and honour our Glorious King.

Thank you for this heartfelt call to the Lord.

Sunnie, kids, faith, shofar; Thanks so much for reading. It's so nice that we have a God we can call upon and trust even when we are struggling. Maybe, especially when we struggle. He is ever worthy of our love.

This reminds me of the psalm of David. He was alway in despair but his hope was centered on God. Very nice.

Teaches, thanks for reading. Actually, the first two lines are from Psalm 74. God is worthy of our service even when we feel our lives are a wreck. He can even use the wreck of our lives to bring others to Himself. How cool is that?
