"Dancing With Fire"

The softest burn.
The lightest touch.
The hardest part,
to love so much...

Is the flame,
meant for destruction,
with burning desire,
of a heart under construction.

We could dance,
to this fiery trance...
but we will never keep up.

You are a fast worker Nikki and take your inspiration very quickly!

This is very nice piece and show completely different style --- soft and lyrical and reminds me of the Doors lyrics... Dance on Fire as it intends.

Great use of language and rhythm, I think you write your pieces under the 4 basic elements... Earth, air, fire and water --- very nice piece, it's always a pleasure to read your work :-)

Thanks guys! hmm, that is interesting damian...i write under the 4 elements...well if you add love, life, death, darkness and light in there then I'll have to agree. idk what elements those would fall under lol glad you liked it.

Fire dancing is one of the many things that brings me great joy. Bring on the flames. Jamie

Love, passion, and power are closely related to the element of fire.

Life is best represented by water but can also be part of earth.

Death is harder to place but darkness is earth. Light is always found in the sky accompanied by air.

Beautiful work!

I feel this like it was written about me.... a heart under construction, dancing in a trance like fire, the softest and lightest touch compelling the deepest pain of loving "too much." You inspire me to look within myself more often than not.

Morning Nikki.

It's taken a while, but you haven't lost any of your fire.

Seems you've turned the temperature to high with this wonderful poem.

LOL Ghaelach

So true, so simple, so deep. The second verse caught me up short and I though, "Wow! That's what it's all about... Pain is just one of the building bricks of creation."

Thank you.

No, thank you. Sometimes in this life to learn, we have to get burned. but if we let the fire consume us, or we douse out the flames, its our decision.

Hi, Nikki,

Tremendous hub; tremendous writing. Such soul and sensitivity. I love it. Voted up and away. You are so talented. Wow.

I cordially invite you to check my hubs, especially:

"Sunset, I Wonder About You," and "An Old Dreamer's Dream" which are basically Abstract/Prose, but they are mine.

Oh, and I ask you this one favor. Please be one of my followers.

I would love that.

Sincerely,

Kenneth/ from northwest Alabama

Thanks Kenneth! Already following you! and I will check out those hubs you mentioned thanks. Hope you will check out more of my hubs as well. I have plenty, mostly poetry hubs and a few shorts stories. Thanks for finding me on here. I am not on often though. I post new poetry on allpoetry.com now.

Nikki,

Thanks for the following and checking my hubs too.

I love poetry. Mostly abstract/prose . . .there are wider boundaries in this type of poetry than the rhythmic-timed style, but both are great. I started loving poetry in 1980 and never looked back.

Now I am off to read another hub you wrote.

Sincerely,

Kenneth
