When love seems so right

It hurts so much more

When things go wrong

Where there was once a shining sea

With glittering diamonds

Sparkling in the sun

There is now dark and stormy water

With waves crashing against the shore

On and on she walked

Along the shore

Leaving footprints in the sand

Where once there were gardens

Full of roses that bloomed

There are now only dead and wilted ones

Their thorns leaving bloody fingerprints behind

Where there was once joy and gladness

There is now only pain and sadness

On and on in this dance of betrayal and deceit

She wondered how to make the song stop

It played on in her mind

Love has come to an end

Where are your dreams?

The rainbow has gone away

And nothing is left

That will give any joy

Where there was once a castle

That they dreamed upon

Sitting high up in the clouds

To which they could fly

On a winged horse

That charged across the heavens

There are now only dark clouds

Behind which lightning flashed

And thunder rumbled

And the castle had come crashing down

When she reached the end of the shoreline

She knew that life would go on

That one day everything would look fine

She only wondered how the world would look then

And if the rainbows, the dreams, the sun and the clouds

Would all look the same?

Most of all she wondered

If she could look at another love

With the same trusting eyes

As she had done before

Before deceit has opened up the door

And let in the world

That had destroyed her dreams

Her fantasies of the wonder of love

Standing there with the waves lapping about

She looked back at her footprints

And she knew that once she retraced her steps

She’d be able to love again

Turning round she started back

The sun came out

The sea began to glitter

And that magic castle

Started rising out of the clouds

It was going to be

A beautiful day

And she went on her way

oh soooooooo nice poem rasma really each and every word point out true feelings and emotions when unluckily we are deceived by some one whom we hold so dear that never can even imagine any thing negative from his side and suddenly when we come across the fact ohh then nothing left behind except lonely heart and teary eyes. i just came across such feelings too and by the most beloved ones. anyways time is the best healer and flies quickly smoothing the way behind. the world goes this way and we can never predict anything ever and some times feel so helpless finding no way out there but just embracing the life the way it comes. i bookmarked the poem its sooo nice and also reminding me of many past painful moments.

Beautiful, sad, yet hopeful at the end. Lea Michel-how poignant and what she must be going through now. Beautiful sentiments.

Beautifully said. It's terrible when love turns out to not be true and the hardest part of all is learning to trust again, but it's worth it in the end. Great poem. :)

Well written poem of emotions and loss of ones heart, to be left feeling a fool. Time heals all wounds, as I found out through my own experience. It's trust that can be the bugger to learn again. Voted it up and awesome!

Beautiful...and so true! It's so difficult to completely trust once that deceit has left its mark in one's heart. Thanks for sharing. UP/U/A

Love hurts, no doubt about it. But - to never love again? that is not living..

You know it and you can't conceive of a 'character' who doesn't also get it!

i adore your poetry, Rasma. it touches on life's trials and tribulations, but always leaves us with a smile!

uplifting and inspirational

There is nothing like the pain of deception, especially when one places one's full trust in another one. Very deep, reflective piece here as to the heart's condition after being deceived. Love the dramatic touch of the black rose!

The pain left and felt by our souls when we are deceived. I know the feeling, it shattered my life 13 years ago, I live with the soul scars and often pen my feelings too. Dear Poet, your visuals were awesome, they struck like lightning, the cracked like thunder, each word penned, another petal fell from the weeping rose, cast into the waves to float and leave, departing forever, never returning to its beauty. Deceit is rancid, a killer of self. I applaud this well written work, I'm sure you were in a place of sorrow penning it. Peace and blessings I send to you this day. Voted Up, tweeted and shared.

Sometimes, in matters of love and the broken heart, we have to get real honest with ourselves. Did we set the expectation so high that it was doomed from the start by our own desires. We live and we love and hopefully we learn so that eventually...we get it right. Nice work here! I enjoyed it very much and it made me think as well. ~WB

Gypsy Rose Lee,

How many times can one heart break? Do we want to even chance it again? How long does it take to heal? Is it all worth it? I certainly hope so!

Beautiful, and always and extremely relatable, as I'm finding to be a common occurrence :D

Up and others~ Sharing too!

I so appreciate your kind words Vincent. It means a lot to me that you enjoy my poetry. Being deceived is one of the most painful kinds of things to go through where love is concerned. I can't quite describe it but I know you'll understand when I'm inspired as I write I live through it all and only return to reality when I'm done. Thank you for the vote and share. Hugs.

Glad you enjoyed this JKenny. Thanks for the share.

Glad you enjoyed this Wayne. I agree through living and loving there is lots to experience and lots to learn from too.

Those are very important questions Cat. However if we let things like betrayal and deceit keep us from ever loving again then we would never find our true love and then life would not be worth living at all. Thanks for the vote and share.

Glad you enjoyed this Anna and thanks for the vote.

Glad you enjoyed this Eddy. Hope you're having a great day. Hugs.

Hi gypsy-rose- lee.

How powerful message of deceptive image of " love ". The line " love has come to an end " proves that feelings and emotions are deceptive when deem to be love.

Often we can get wiser by experience if wee choose so.

Voted beautiful an interesting.

Love when it comes to an end can be so painful Michael especially when it is because of deceit. Thanks for the vote.
