Destinys Defeat

You lay there sleeping

A peaceful slumber

No worries about you

Nothing left to wonder

Years have passed

Mistakes were made

Your perfect score

My failing grade

You opened my eyes

My heart and my mind

A love never known

Never expected to find

My soul wasn’t pure

My heart barely beat

Your standards to high

My destiny – Defeat
