Royal baby goes home

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge leave hospital with their new baby who's name was announced today as prince George Alexander Louis

The New Royal Baby

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge left hospital last night with their brand new baby boy. The small family emerged from St Mary's Hospital in Paddington one day after the birth.

The boy who would be king will be introduced to his great grandmother today; the queen is currently visiting the third in line for the throne at Kensington Palace.

To the crowd of well-wishers gathered outside the hospital yesterday, Prince William said that his son had his wife's looks and a great pair of lungs. The baby was named Prince George Alexander Louis today 24 July 2013 at 19:40.

Sixty years she reigned

Still twinkles like diamond

A celebration

London 2012, a date for the calendar this summer.

The Olympic torch begins its 70 days journey, starting at Lands’ end tomorrow May 19, to finish at the Olympic stadium on the 27th of July.

The touch will signal the beginning of the 30th Olympic game.

The fun continues, as communities all over the country prepare for the real celebration, the Queen Elizabeth ll Diamond Jubilee.

Elizabeth came to the throne on the 6th of February 1952, and her coronation took place on the 2nd of June 1953. This diamond jubilee marks 60 years on the throne.

Elizabeth ll is the second monarch to reach this landmark, second only to Queen Victoria, who came to the throne at the age of 18 years and reigned for 63 years, ruling from 1837-1901.

The Queen remains a sterling example and is loved more now than ever before. She shows no sign of slowing down, at the grand age of 86 and continues to carry out her duties with a smile that twinkles like a diamond.

This haiku is my small tribute to a great Monarch.

Voronwe, nice to see you back, the queen is pretty amazing she's had her ups and downs but like the bunny she keep on going.

She was 25 years old when her father died, she was crowned a year later. Like her mother before her, the queen and royal family as a whole do, as you said, give a sense of stability but also rather very good for business to.

Nice Jo! Great tribute to Queen Elizabeth. I was just wondering her age at the time of her coronation...was googling at the same time. The British Monarchy remains a constant symbol and a long-standing institution, even globally. What stands out the most in England (unlike other countries), is that their monarchs also offer a sort of sentimental stability to their people and other affairs.
