Didn’t I Tell You That I Love You? Celebrating my 6th Anniversary on Hub Pages. Prose and Poetry.

To All my Hubber Friends and Supporters, Past and Present

Well, my Sweet Hubber Friends, time is fleeting. Six years have come and gone and we continue our journey to Valencia. ‘Me hear dem say,’ that it’s full of beauty, and pageantry; Light and Love. There the light winds carry Happiness in their aroma, and there are no Moors.

So far we’ve dined at the Fiesta’s, tangoed at the Siesta’s, or just reclined into our hammocks with vodka and coke, or un cocktail pour vous; un cocktail pais moi aussi.

I feel so glad that we’ve travelled together, and I thank you for accompanying me on this heavenly journey. Along the way, there have been turns and twists, some spirals; an occasional bump on this endless sojourn, but all in all, the Path has been smooth, and the horses swift.

It is so nice to be with you! What amazing company! We’ve caressed and danced; drank from the Fountain of Love, while sipping from the Chalice of Beauty and enchantment. My most profound Gratitude.

The Journey

Today I wish to dwell on Love – this yearning of the One for the One; this spoken yet unspoken awe; this magical ‘feel awesome but dare not name’ realm of speechless Bliss-Delight. This Pulse of Being! (There is also a poem at the end).

We travel together, and if for some reason so far Love eludes us, then it is only temporary, for at the appointed time, it will come again, and we are all invited. Isn’t this beautiful?

“Love radiates the Life of harmony, brightens the joy of consciousness, and sharpens the sword of intuition. Love is also ready to meet mans every soulful demand. Love conquers all that is unlike God, and it is indeed, supreme over all.” –Sri Chinmoy.

I have tried to share and remain faithful to this Love. You have joined and supported me here on this journey. The Hub Pages Staff; all my Hubber Friends who are still here, and also those who have left. What an inspirational and life-learning road that we travel and have travelled together!

I have danced, like a firefly, in your sweet flame, and my Heart has fluttered and thrilled with your inspirations. It has been a wonderful road. I wish to tell you that:

“Love is the root; Love is the foundation of our Path. We feel that God is dearer to us, not because he is omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent, but because he is all Love.” –Sri Chinmoy.

Chalice of Love

Within the kernel of this Love flows the Gratitude of the Supreme, indeed whatever Gratitude that I have, and so I offer it to you:

"Infinity is that. Infinity is this. From infinity, infinity has come into existence. From infinity, when infinity is taken away, infinity remains." – The Vedas.

As such, my Gratitude also remains. The Vedic Seers were full with Love and Wisdom. Let us look carefully at this sublime piece:

"Speech is not what one should desire to understand. One should know the speaker.... The deed is not what one should desire to understand. One should know the doer.... Mind is not what one should desire to understand. One should know the thinker."-Kanshitaki Upanishad.

Let us, together, desire to aspire to know the Lover, the possessor of Love, to loose ourselves in reverence and wonder, and be FREE. Hari Om Tat Sat! Alleluia! Praise be!

Didn’t I tell you that I Love You?

That Your beauty shone in splendour,

Blue eyes caress the wonder of my Soul?

The sweet charm of Your fragrance touched me,

As the starlight kissed Your resplendent lustre,

Bringing down an immortal joy from Heaven.

Didn’t I tell You that I Love You?

I bathed in the sweet meadow of Your enchantment,

As Your soft, radiant silhouette stood before me.

My Heart melted like silken feathers,

Immersed in the luminosity of Your Sun.

Didn’t I tell You that I Love You?

Here in this fountain of Your rhapsody,

Love becomes the weaver of my speech.

This Heart is pulsing with Delight,

And my core’s enraptured, like a bird in flight.

Didn’t I tell you that I Love You?

In this your perennial sweetness, I remain,

Where golden sunbeams,

Sends jewels of happiness, to this mortal frame.

Now I’m too afraid to express the speechless,

Lest You should vanish from my gaze.

Didn’t I tell You that I Love You?

My, my - six years! Congratulations! My sixth anniversary will be in about four months. How fast they've flown on here!

This is a breathtaking hub! Such beautiful illustrations and, even more, the thoughts and feelings.

I’m thankful for having the opportunity to know you, Manatita, as well as most of the Hubbers you mentioned in your hub dedication! In fact, I literally go around saying "thanks" out loud for so many things, big and small, during my days. I even thank my body for responding well when it does. Zig Ziglar coined a phrase many years ago which has stuck with me: Attitude of Gratitude. It seems so natural to feel gratitude, along with the surges of good feelings and even happy feelings of relief as things happen. Some of the challenges along the way can even make me feel grateful for their lessons, if only in retrospect.

Oh, how I love Kahlil Gibran’s work. In fact, my webpages feature several of the subjects from “The Prophet”, including my narration of them. The one on love is at nellieanna.com/onlove.html. (My Mac doesn’t pick up background audios on my webpages, so I can’t be sure my narration is intact.) I've also a series on love called “Ah ~ Love”: nellieanna.com/ahlove1.html.

Of course, all my life, I’ve loved I Corinthians 13 - on love:

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Yes, my Sweet Friend, Nellieanna.

I follow you more than you think. I have read your website or most of it, and I have read some of the works done on you by others. I particularly loved your Kahlil Gibran work, as he is close to me also. You were excellent!

I grew up in Christianity and was an astounding biblical student. I love Paul, and I love the quotes you mention. The one about the child I have used here many times. Helps me to illustrate the stages of life in different ways, like Paul does. I feel that of all the Apostles, he had the most Light.

We are so similar, and again especially so on Gratitude. I thank others a lot, and have dedicated so many prose and poems to this subject. Like you, I also thank myself. So to you, my deepest Gratitude ...much.

So happy to see you here again. I hope that your hands are now fine, Gods willing. Mines hurt sometimes. Your sentiments are always so special and inspirational, and worthy of further readings. I believe that I have touched on this in your tribute, which by the way, I've sent to you again.

Hope you are well, my dear, and that you have fully recovered from the falls. May our Lord protect you and continue to shower His wisdom, on your loving Heart. Much Peace.

Thank you, dear friend. Also, you’ve reminded me to review some of those references you mention, which is pleasurable. I’ve certainly left tracks on the internet, haven’t I? And I’ve received far more praise than I deserve, but - ‘how sweet it is’.

Oh, yes. I discovered “the Prophet” through a somewhat unlikely friend in my teens and it’s been dear to my heart ever since. I’ve never been without a copy, though I’ve given my own copies to others numerous times.

I, too, treasure the verses about the child in I Cor. 13 and the way it stresses the innocent limitations of youth which one must outgrow in maturity, - but, obviously and hopefully, - without losing all the innocence. Elsewhere the exhortation is to be innocent as a lamb but wise as a fox. That’s vital for a grown person.

I’ve also been a serious biblical student, beginning at home in my childhood with my parents’ individual examples and precepts of purity, along with their realistic ability to deal with life’s realities.

Music played a part for me. I learned to play piano with hymns and was easily persuaded to go to church with Mother to hear the pipe organ and choir. I devoured Englemeyer’s Bible Stories (written beautifully for kids’ understanding). I boarded at a very Bible-based religious school for my Senior year of High School before going on there for my first years of college. The prevailing everyday emphasis on the Bible meant that one was constantly aware of its influence. As in any emphasis in one’s growing years, it becomes part of one’s own foundation however it evolves in one’s maturity. So it’s part of the base of my spiritual life, though I’m not adamant or rigid about it as many are. Perhaps I’ve put away childish things and see through a little less darkly. My faith is in truth, which I consider way beyond prevailing human concepts of it, especially conflicting ones focused on trying to destroy each other's. It seems that too many ‘faiths’ miss the true spirit of what they’ve learned and attempt to use it to impose human perception on that which is far beyond it. I feel that we need to use the best we are to reach the higher understanding at a higher plane. There is no conflict there.

Fighting over

And searching for

The truth

Is missing it.

There is no place

It is.

There is no place

It isn't.

Thanks for concern about my recovery after my fall. My wrists are fairly OK, probably as well as can be hoped and the carpal tunnel is a fact to be lived with, which I’m doing.

Thank you for resending the tribute manuscript. I am thinking seriously about it, though with some reservations, although they are not at all regarding its kindness and perception. You’ll be hearing from me soon about it.

Congratulations on six years. Manatita. I'm sure you've touched as many people as have touched you.

When I first started following you I didn't understand many of your words because I'd never heard them before. I viewed you as a poet beyond my comprehension, but couldn't stop reading your work.

Then one day it all clicked. I'm not sure how it happened. I know now that you have a deep understanding of me and I'm learning you. You make me think and go to my inner self for answers to questions I may not be conscious of and that understanding pours out in my comments to your work. My fingers put on paper (via your comment boxes) what I receive from the gifts of your poems and prose.

And then suddenly, it happened. I connected to you. You had already connected to me and I'm not sure how you did it. It was as if you'd been reaching out to me all along and one day I simply took your hand.

You feed the spiritual side of me. It's become more prominent in the way I govern myself. I've learned to love myself even more and recognize my worth. I've learned to just say no to people and/or situations that compromise my ethics and morals. Because I believe in what I believe.

You have a spiritual presence that permeates the cyber waves and makes a real connection to the person (me) on the other side of the screen. That's pretty powerful, my friend. And, yes - you are my friend. You sense my misgivings, doubts and trepidations from just a few words. You have a very powerful soul and I thank you for accepting mine.

My soul is riding a rainbow of love and joy across the pond to give you a hug with tears of ecstasy as my wings.

God Bless you, my Friend!

I thank you for the congratulations. You've definitely heard a lot of my words before. I just use them in a different way. Why should I say"Shauna gave me a beautiful kiss." When I can say "I felt the breath of her fragrance on my lips, and my Heart stirred with Delight." (chuckle)

What a sweet and sincere, indeed loving and touching sentiment! So glad that you understand me now. Many of my words are just used amazingly and with wonder, but yes, I do use some fancy ones. Funny, they are every day English words though ..well, not quite. (smile)

"My soul is riding a rainbow of love and joy across the pond to give you a hug with tears of ecstasy as my wings." I liked those words. You see, you're catching Up! (smile again)

So my Love, I'm essentially a mystical poet, an esoteric poet. Many of my poems are filled with spiritual experiences. Yes, I sometimes know people. I have sat in silence for 33 years! No point doing something if it does not help, you agree? I am also blessed with an Advocate of God for my Guru. So I pick things up intuitively through His Grace.

More later, bed calls. I have written by penultimate poem based on Giving and Receiving. Have a look. I always say that I take as much as I give. We all inspire each other here in one form or another. God bless!-Manatita
