Don't Try This At Home

Updated on February 26, 2013

Sometimes We Try And Succeeed Anyway

I have to warn all you dare devils out there

This can be hazzardous to your health

If your like me and don't take no for an answer

Go one step farther and see for yourself

Test your skills and test your endurance

See if you have what it takes

If you do succeed tell me what you feel like?

Is your neck stiff ?

A dull pain in your shoulder like someone had punched you didn't know it ?

Do you have a pain shooting up your arm ?

A cramp in your hand that just wont go away

Do you have to go to work the next day and have to use that arm for work ?

Are you thinking what was I thinking?

But now it's too late

Have you lost your mind or are you really finding yourself in a crazy mixed up world ?

Well you be the judge and you are the only one who can do it or just put it totally out of your mind

There comes a time in our life where we throw the rules out the window and decide to be a rebel

Take up arms for a cause

In this case take up a pen and challange yourself beyond all limits

Are you ready to begin ?

Are you a little scared ?

If not you should be

This is my challange to you

Yesterday I woke up and decided I would write a little because I was feeling creative

I was over my aunts house so I didn't have access to a computer

So I decided to do what I use to do growing up write the old fashioned way

All I need is a pen and paper

So the mood struck and so did lightning

I started to write then my thoughts started to fly

As I wrote one story seem to lead into the next

One thought seemed to push another

I stayed on track and kept watching my hand move from one side of the paper to the end

My mind started to think some crazy thoughts

How long could I continue on this interesting writing adventure

That soon turned into an inner power I could not control

As soon as a new thought entered my head I wanted to write it and give it life

So what began as a fun write turned into a grueling fight

To write and write like I have never written before

The hours would pass and the clock on the wall clearly doesn't lie

For five straight hours I wrote and wondered how long could I last

My hand would suffer an occasional cramp after a few finger exercises and some wrist twists

My hand seemed limbered up enough to continue

I wondered what I could make of this writing frenzie

Where for the moment I could think of nothing but

I planned on writing all day if I could

I had to work later but I had a total of fifteen hours to see what I could accomplish

I didn't move from my seat except for an occasional leg and arm stretch and some deep breathing exercises

I sat right back down again just as if I never stopped

I picked up just where I left off

I thought some incredible thoughts like how many thoughts can I write on paper

Will I run out of paper and be forced to stop

As I gripped my pen and my hand wobbled from time to time

I watched some lines become blurry as I rubbed my eyes once more

I witnessed something I have never seen before.

I have written stories in the past but I have never written as long as this ever

Well it was just a little bit after my 5th hour I had hit my limit

My body pushed on each hour before when I had other aches

Sadly this was different

I got feeling of numbness in my arm and my toes

Such a sharp pain all the way up my neck

But when I couldn't even hold my pen any more I knew I was done

The thoughts that were so alive and fresh now have fleeted and left my mind for some much needed rest

I woke up at 2 A.M.and began this task it was just after 7 A.M. I had finally stopped

Soon after I went back to sleep and my body crashed

Waking up later with pains and numbness you wouldn't believe

What did I achieve

Eighty seven pages of written material

Now I have to copy over and type

The whole time my ideas appeared to be so clear

I didn't want to do anything else but write

So when I finish rewriting my words you shall see

What motivated me

What interests took over

What thoughts I thought each hour

Now I challlange you to pick up your pen and grab a stack of blank paper

See how long you can write before you have hit a wall

Before you have to stop and can't write another word

Some might call it fun others might think it's absurd

working
