Dreamers’ Delight (poem)
Such fantasy in thought you can relate
Reality has little claim on you
With daring dreams of passion in your view
My heart has found new rhythm in its fate
-
Our pulse that fashioned day will soon ebb too
The fanciful displays of night await
With all the mischief lovers dare create
Such wonder when my mind wanders with you
-
Why should we lightly drift down from our cloud
To jealousy that cannot hold its own
Such thieves that steal the fruit from neighbor’s trees
-
Our life of paradise which love avowed
Where kisses quicken memories of a tone
My love for you to please holds tight to these
