Dreams of Fancy
Dreams of Fancy

Senses alive; hands outstretched,
brushing with tender acceptance the grass tops yearning,
the gentle breeze rolling over the tall grasses,
like waves of numbing slumber,
a seductive sleep, deep within dreams of fancy.
Each step the crisp surrender of stalks,
part before the might of purposeful movement,
the will of life melding with nature’s sweet breath,
her song the lilting presence of omniscience.
The sway of motion like a narcotic,
nature’s way joining all to this stillness of heart,
this intoxicating dream of harmony and place.
Within me the warmth of knowing my heart beats in time,
with all that is, that was and will become,
as trill sounds from sparrows darting, fill my ears.
This crust I cling to is so heavy and lethargic,
as my heart soars in freedom,
as I fall back, caught by the arms of a thousand stalks of grass,
gently coming to rest on a bed of plush foliage.
I am held by the earth and the life on it,
gazing up at the white puffs of cloud that glide stealthily across the blue.
Layers of dreams on dreams,
bewilder the mind in this carriage of life,
forever transforming and recreating the magnificence of being.
I am truly home and my soul enriched, sighs.
