Dreams Of A Heartbeat (poem)

Dreams of a heartbeat which I came to know

So tender those times when I held you tight

Echoes from moments of so long ago

Basking in the warmth of sweet lovers’ glow

Two wandering souls then seemed to unite

Dreams of a heartbeat which I came to know

We drift in a realm which time would bestow

Each whispering sigh our hearts would incite

Echoes from moments of so long ago

Familiar refrains of I love you so

That music of lips brought wonder delight

Dreams of a heartbeat which I came to know

Now this has all passed to sorrows of woe

And all which remains are shadows at night

Echoes from moments of so long ago

And still she returns devotion aglow

Faithful reminder to keep this in sight

Dreams of a heartbeat which I came to know

Echoes from moments of so long ago

Morning !!

Great poem mate !! for me the last stanza really was super strong and ended the piece wonderfully .

The repeat of the last line in each stanza has also really taken the reader into the emotions of the piece reiterating the genuine pain being expressed .

Exalt !!

Excellent, my friend.

Those long ago loves remain alive in our memories.

Sweet, sweet memories.

You brought it back from long ago. There is magic in your words.

Great Job!!

Hmm. I don't like you rhyming, but this is still good; wistful, light and sweet, like cotton candy in spring... very nice... lily
