Driving and Dressing
Pants-legs and Pedals,
Shoes on the floor.
Changing your clothes
In the car can be
Quite a chore.
Driving and Dressing,
There will be an accident
For sure.
One stoplight, two,
Three, and four.
I wonder what’s in store?
I hope to finish before
I have to open the door.
(Ow! I think I’m going to be sore!)
I don’t think I’ll
Change clothes in
The car anymore.

To the Reader:
I just wanted to give you a little background on this poem. I wrote this poem at the spur of the moment, ironically enough while driving in a car. My friends and I were heading out for an evening on the town. I was not the driver at the time. However, a funny conversation about all the crazy things people do while driving is what ultimately led to this poem being written. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it.
Sincerely,
Daelyn H Appleton
