Edge of Desire Kindle Sample

Review of the Sample

The sample for Edge of Desire by Stephanie Laurens (Kindle price: $6.39) leads off with a quick description of the Bastion Club series premise (a group of honored war hero aristocrat spies make a bastion of masculinity against the marriage-seeking ton). But the sample rapidly moves into the storyline. Since it's a romance/mystery crossover, it's important to establish early on both the romantic storyline and the mystery-- and it's no surprise that Laurens does so in the first few pages of the book.

The conflict and mystery is established early, and the sample covers all the initial clues (the "what do the investigators know to start out), and leaves the reader ready to read on.

This is another one I will likely buy, though I probably didn't need the Kindle sample to sell me on it. I almost impulse-shopped this one in paperback at a drugstore on three separate occasions.
