Ending Of My Soul (poem)
The morning music breaks the ghastly grip
Which runs along the shadows of the night
Those specters which my dying heart invite
To dance along those moments which I slip
-
Each teardrop flows to flame a mad delight
What once was Joy the teeth of never strip
What once was me confusion takes its nip
The moon’s sweet glow is now a blesséd blight
-
The promises of starlight take their toll
In dark’s domain beyond the evermore
Where I am doomed to search my pain for why
-
I still recall the ending of my soul
When darkness took its place there at my door
She never even said the word goodbye
