Endowed with the knowledge of past events,
we tread the paths of futures sent,
and despite ourselves we circumvent,
all reason and rational thought.
In hast we make the same mistakes,
elude to and blame all else for sake,
and ignore what we already take,
for truth of experience given.
Funny how our sight is just,
when what we see is smoke and dust,
installed in mind an abject lust,
for lies that never heal.
Denial has become the common thread,
illusion rife inside our heads,
ignoring all ancestral beds,
from where that knowledge springs.
What learning we adopt in hope,
of living better and in pain less scope,
and listen to those voices, cope,
with life in glorious bounds.
Instead we choose in arrogance lose,
and for pride endure and mistakes imbue,
our lives with pain and in lies a ruse,
we hurt ourselves and truth.
