Enjoying St. Patrick's Day

Three years ago we adopted out cat SId. He spent a whole week in our basement because he had been abused and thrown out in the street and wasn't sure about his new home. He came out to join us on St. Patrick's Day and so I decided right away he was at least part Irish and we made this day his birthday. This year on Saturday he will be 6 years old and this song is for him.

Oh, no I’m not Irish
No not me
But come every St. Patrick’s Day
And greener I couldn’t be

Come St. Patrick’s Day
I’m ready to march in the big parade
Prouder, than proud
To join the Irish
On their great day!

Love every four leaf clover
That happens to come my way
I’ll say to any leprechaun
Have a good day!

Come St. Patrick’s Day
I’m ready to march in the big parade
All decked out in green
Prouder, than proud
To join the Irish
On their great day!

Love those Irish jigs
Seeing smiling Irish eyes
Green’s the color for this day
And I’m ready to be
A true colleen

Come St. Patrick’s Day
I’m ready to march in the big parade
Prouder, than proud
To join the Irish
On their great day!

No, no I’m not Irish
But come this special day
I’ll lift a mug of beer or two
And say Erin go bragh!

Come St. Patrick’s Day
I’m ready to march in the big parade
Prouder, than proud
To join the Irish
On their great day!

Green’s the color
I love to see
On a day that makes most everyone
Irish in their hearts

Come St. Patrick’s Day
I’m ready to march in the big parade
Prouder, than proud
To join the Irish
On their great day!

So come St. Patrick’s Day
Surprised you won’t be
To see me do the Irish jig
And wearin’ the green!

Come St. Patrick’s Day
I’m ready to march in the big parade
Prouder, than proud
To join the Irish
On their great day!

I love smiles because it's only so much those who wears a smile can do angrily.

Great work Rose , and keep smiling...

Bless and have a great day.

You don't have to be Irish to enjoy St Patrick's day! Cute poem. You should dress Sid in green for the big day. I'm Irish through and through.

Mary hope you have a really wonderful St. Patrick's Day and you already have the luck of the Irish in you. I don't know what the birthday boy would say if I put a green T-shirt on him but it's a thought.Glad you liked the poem.

Jaggedfrost I'm not very far from Ireland now and I certainly am longing to see the Emerald Isle. Definitely worth taking the trip. With our really bad economic times here in Latvia a lot of Latvian people are now living and working in Ireland.Hope you have a Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Glad you liked it BeyondMax.I've always loved St. Patrick's Day. Yeah Sid's a real darling. He's dark and light gray and has a touch of reddish brown and I can't get over how really handsome he looks.
