Ever Spinning Out of Control

You tell me today,

is now yesterday

and soon it will be tomorrow.

It was morning

and now it is night.

The sun was just shining,

but now the moon and the stars are out.

Why do I feel so dizzy?

It was just a rough Monday,

then it grew into a Wednesday

and now it’s come to Friday again.

Oh, tell me when it will stop?

Aren’t we spinning too fast?

Aren’t we spinning out of control?

The years have rolled on -

looking back wasn’t it just yesterday,

when I was but a laughing child.

Then a teen with stars in her eyes

and now here I am –

having walked for more than half a lifetime,

leaving behind so many great friends,

losing my loved ones along the way.

Aren’t we spinning too fast?

Aren’t we spinning out of control?

Where did all the yesterdays go?

Precious memories remain,

of days gone by and friends that were.

Soon another year will begin

and I don’t suppose it will ever end.

Let me catch my breath again -

stop the world for just a moment,

I want to get off to reflect.

Aren’t we spinning out of control?

Ah, Rasma. You want 48 hrs a day too? Time moves so fast, eh? Excellent poetry!

Rasma, this is amazing. I can't tell you how many times I've felt like this. Excellent flow. I could feel the almost panicked emotion.

Great job!
