Exquisite

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

Exquisite sweet pain of emotion,

overwhelming and disabling,

haunting our deepest secrets,

enlivening our darkest fears,

inspiring our greatest hopes.

Tears from a heart torn,

both devastate and nourish,

a soul in need of cleansing,

of surrender to itself,

complete vulnerability,

at the edge of disaster.

Rebirth comes from the pain of release,

admitting susceptibility,

realising defencelessness,

in the face of our inner truth,

our true nature.

When tears flow unrestricted,

our hearts open and our minds void of thought,

we discover how small we are, how fragile,

how covered we are in bravado, pretence,

the potential of our souls

beyond comprehension.

How exquisite what we can feel,

far beyond the physical shell,

within the depths of us,

the sadness, joy and selfless love

that defines us in a world of hesitation.

How excruciating the joy of acceptance,

This weakness in sheep’s clothing,

this strength that connects us to life,

that transforms our minds

to discover love’s potential.

How exquisite.

Very beautifully written. I have found tears to be very cleansing and releasing. It truly is an expression of emotion that while leaving one vulnerable gives make srength.
