Facing One's Self Uphill

Upon my pen...

ink starts to bleed...

one would hope it did at need...

yet bleed it does but not to form...

perhaps random would make it warm...

saying what need states...

but who's need shall I sate...

my own which seems vanity ...

and not much else...

so unused to pampering myself...

but even where I so inspired...

to partake of narcissistic thought...

not sure what would come of that...

my ego on the altar, slain...

the dried blood gone black...

the fires of heaven ate the rest...

and yet one would say...

How write I now...

wherein shall I feed if I be empty...

from wince cometh inspiration...

if not from fullness of self...

heaven for bid my Father have mention...

even so the portal seems thicker...

or perhaps myself most tired...

afraid of what might be required...

let us say no more of that...

dragging such thoughts across the page...

as suites me to amuse myself...

even if no ego is won...

perhaps a laugh or two at my expense...

my humanity on display.

Very dramatic. Loved the lines:

my ego on the altar, slain...

the dried blood gone black...

the fires of heaven ate the rest...

Thank you Sally, it was rather fanciful. Sometimes I enjoy a little lurid imagery.

Very nicely put JF it spreads down the page like a spilt inkwell. Lovely!

It is the closest I have come to a stream of thought.
