Fallen

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

The swell of loving thoughts,

embrace my heart,

fill me with a warm understanding,

and the essence of you.

Across oceans,

vast lands of people,

minds and hearts,

yours alone as a beacon,

imbues my life with hope.

How did you capture me

so securely, so completely,

that I am but a puppet

to your whim.

Intoxicated, bemused,

I have never fallen

so thoroughly to a heart.

Images sway me,

flashes of you,

a smile, a glance,

a knowing loving look,

that melts me as if wax,

fluid adoration and beguiling.

Your charms hold me,

secure me in my prison,

until you return

and release my heart,

into your loving arms,

and the blissful dream

of you.

Such a beautiful poem about how we lose the senss of ourselves in order to truly find a meaning and purpose to our life when we start loving someone so deeply. Voted up and beautiful.
