"Fear Can Make Us Wonder What If"

What if is a terrible question that we shouldn't never ask ourselves because it brings on dread and fear in our lives that we can happily live without. What if stops us from breathing or even moving forward . Fear and what If? goes hand in hand with each other. I remember when I was going through my anxiety attacks, what if was the question, I always asked myself what if. You start out asking what if this happen or what if that happens and before you know it, your heart is pounding and you have set yourself up for a full blown anxiety attack that has caused you to lose focus on the reality in your life. So, the best thing to do is to never ask the question in the first place because you begin to come up with all kinds of mental answers that's not necessarily true, all because of the fear behind the question "What If" that you have asked yourself.

The question "What If," is the fear that make us search for things in our life that most of the times aren't even there, but our minds fool us into believing that it is so. We are all afraid of one thing or another , but we have to train our minds to think positive and happy things to cancel out the fear factor that causes our panic attacks. Over a period of at least twenty years , I have battled depression and panic attacks and I have learned that fear can be debilitating and deadly, if we don't get a handle on it.Fear will have us so afraid that we can't even go outside for a breath of fresh air. I have seen this fear in at least two of my relatives, they both suffer from Agoraphobia, which is the fear of being outside. All kinds of fears can and will keep us from living a normal and happy life.

I know for a fact, that many people live with some kind of fear phobias and if we seek help for ourselves, we might not ever get over the fear factors that controls our lives. So if you remember but one thing, remember not to ask that dreaded question "What If"?

Hello, So good to see you. I can relate. For a long time i had a fear of traveling on the interstate. I would take back roads which took three times longer. I was given an anxiety drug which didn't help. Finally, in time i was able to overcome enough that i can now travel on the interstate. I guess just knowing you have a fear and facing the fear heals. Thank's for a great Hub....

I conquered one of my biggest fears when I published my hub "My Fear of Failure". For years I have wanted to be a writer but didn't think I had the talent. It was a huge step for me, that I am grateful I have taken. Fear does stop a person from enjoying life. That is terrific that you are finding ways to work through yours. Great and encouraging hub! Voted up!

Faye can I say something that many people don't understand, well many years ago yes I used to have fear come into my life, but now for some reason Jesus has taken all fear away from me, when I'm on vacation I go to places where people say don't go there, well who will tell the message if no one goes there, fear is put in you by the devil, so by over coming the devil you wont get the fear feeling, I go into places with Jesus by my side, just a thought for all

God loves all

Yes. What if.... is a dreaded question which incites fear in us and it is better not to ask us this fear inciting question.

Very well stated. Thank you creativeone. You got me to thinking; what if God wants us to believe His promises to us and trust Him to keep His Word?

CO,

What if we eliminated "what if" from our vocabulary? Something to think about!

I don't know about phobias, but I have been a shy person through my life and realize that it has prevented me from many things that I would have liked to do from asking a girl for a date when I was young to going for the jobs I wanted or dealing with the interviewers in order to get the job. It is all fear.

You're right. Fear can be so paralyzing. Playing the "what if" game is a losing one. You can find yourself stuck in one place, one job, the wrong partner, etc., etc. I suggest visiting childhood dreams as a way of keeping in touch with living life with no fear. Think back to the time when all things were possible. It may help when the "what if" hits.

My kind of hub! How did you train your brain? I am a "what if" person. I have been doing good re-training my brain to "so what!"
