Letting Go

He holds her close, buries his fears

He feels his shirt turn wet as she bursts into tears

Both of them know, that this could be the last time

Both of them know he might not make the end of the line

Burnt the candle at both ends, and the middle too

She loves the little gifts, but yet she still feels blue

Held all this in for as long as they'd known

It's no sin to cry when you have to let go

A few weeks later, should be planning christmas in prague

Little did we know I'd be on life support unable to take part

So we were right

I never saw her again

I'd have to fight,

Alone through the pain,

I think I just might

Take some time to shed a tear

At the memories, of yesteryear.
