A new life awaits

One without judgment and limitations

I tentatively step into the sun

A fairground full of music and energy

Twirling hula hoops and colorful kites

Peaceful smiles and excited grins

Bodies stretched on massage tables

Ethnic flavors rising up in steam

I walk alone between tents

Trying not look alone

Conspicuous and stiff I move

Graceful to the unknowing

I wander near a colorful sun shade

A poet is speaking

For a moment I am relaxed

In listening I have purpose

“No love is bad, receive it”

A 100th hub should be some kind of marker. I've stalled for days knowing it needs to be randy in topic and more that just another one of my poems. So I've decided to cheat. Hubpages unpublished one of my best grossing...

Love for something, one will always have, but what does it really mean?

Nice Hub :)

The festival poet was referring to love between people, not love of things. Love given from a person is never bad.

I wanna go to this festival.

Nikki the festival in the poem is Harmony in Santa Rosa, CA. The one in the picture is not in the states. My favorite festival has got to be Earthdance, in Laytonville, CA though. :)

Time and space and love. Synergy. Wonder. Thank you for them all. :)

No, no love is bad and none of Randy's poems are either! It's wonderful to hear from you again, buddy. I've been wondering how you've been. I hope everything's okay, aside from the fact that you've been busy :)

If you could, please come and check out this hub. I think you'll like it :D

Thanks for stopping in Dohn. No hub is truly complete without your comment on it. I was in need of some hublove, so where else could I go?

Oh, how I love a carnival, pigging out on the hot greasy foods, hopefully sharing them with a lovely lass, then daring them to get tossed on some dizzying rides, long kisses at the top of a ferris wheel, and the Laugh in the dark that becomes intimate giggles, twenty tickets later....cotton candy lips and on a cone as well, games of chance much like life, sometimes you win, but most often you pay to lose. Lovely hub Randy~~~MFB III

Music festivals differ a bit from carnivals. The food is healthier, and the rides are generally in your mind or back in your tent :)

I think a hippy groove song would have fit with this... we are all one, no age no race no limits, nothin that promotes hate.. we be one. Good job

I'll see if I can't go find some loooove on youtube that fits. :) Thanks.

Which festival have you been to?

Randy b,

Not sure what they were called! I lived in New orleans for a couple of years and that town lives to have music festivals, most of the ones I went to there were at the Audobon Zoo and a real blast. Also took in a few along the Mississippi and Alabama gulf coast. More recently I took in the Calgary Folk Festival. I've been to a few of the Vancouver Animated Film Festivals and here in Newfoundland I always attend the many folk festivals that take place each year, most notably the NL Folk Festival and the George Street Festivals.

Probably more...always fun!

We're gearing up for the last Earthdance festival in Laytonville. Its getting to big for the venue. A lot of the big names are coming back for this last hoorah. You know I'll be there!

The first lines are festive and then we get a little serious... no love is bad, give it :D

Randy Behavior profile image

Look closer Cris there is seriousness in the first few lines as well. Its kinda a serious sandwich with a little festival and mayo. :)

Thank you for the comment Claudia. Funny that's my new motto, "life is just chapters."

Morning Hope! Going to one tonight, alas there is a 40% chance of rain.

Hi Laurie, it tis, it tis :)

Oh Kez you should give it ago. There are all types of festivals for all types of people. I like the wacky ones myself.

Love the feeling this piece invokes! Pushing me right to summertime and sunshine, and to our own little town festival. No big tents but lots of folks who know everyone else! :) (The old hens live for it!) Really enjoyed it! Thank you~N

Felt like Burning Man to me. I've never been but live nearby so get to see a lot of coverage. (or lack thereof)!

Wonderful job...it was like I was there in the fair grounds seeing all the sights.

A new life awaits, a new day, a new perspective of sun, a circus affair of light, heat. Maybe I'm not close, but I loved it.

Natasha we have both the big and the small, farmer and hippie, I love them all.

Thanks for coming by Eric.

Haven't made it to burning man yet Victoria, but we have discussed it. That's not a casual endeavor; one must plan.

Hi Tracie. I'm glad I was able to transport you.

Hi Henry. New perspective for sure. Thats what I love about festivals, they are always mind expanding.

Thank for dropping in Leah. Hitting a festival in the morning; care to join?
