Fifty Shades of Yearning

Where to begin
but long ago in my constant commitment
to selfishness
unchained as it would seem
The need to please would not often
desert me

If only you knew what lay beneath the smile
the touch
Yet now ?
Not one answer came to the question
Could you have been mine

Yet onward I marched like a soldier of
pity aligned in perfection
the perfect fool
And I remain but
fooled again

And so are we not all but fools?
answer me now
Before it all begins
again and

What we always thought was this need
wasn't it but just another tint of
Another shade of

Very good my friend....there must be at least 50 shades of yearning ...The heart is so magnificent..maybe fooled once more..but given the chance to love once more..I think it would. Happy Labor Day,

Good reflection on yearning, we do sometimes look back and wonder about things could have been.
