For All Intents and Purposes
introduction
After a long drought, this was the second song I wrote back in 2006. I performed it with the band I was in at the time. I think the lyrics and message are beautiful. it's a song I'm proud of. I won't direct you to our website because this song isn't on it anyway, and because things ended badly, but I hope you enjoy the lyrics.
email me if you'd like me to send you the file containing the song.
for all intents and purposes
three times
I denied
three times
I cursed
39 times
they whipped you with nine
and I just stood
and warmed my hands by the fire.
how many times
have I watched them scourge You?
how many times
have I stood by and denied?
bitterly I weep
outside in the heat
countless times You've reached for me.

This is a very short poem I wrote about twelve years ago. it became a song that was very long (about 7 minutes.) I've always liked the spareness of it and the dichotomous images it has. I hope you enjoy it as well. i'd be interested in hearing your t - Lost by PDXKaraokeGuy
I started this poem in high school (turned it into a song of course) I've recently started messing with the form, simplifying and clarifying some of the language and now I'm fairly happy with this work. I hope you enjoy it. If you want to hear the so - she always was a deep sleeper
