For Doug Peacock.....

THE WOLF....THE GRIZZLY......THE TREES.... WHATS NEXT .......THE BREEZE.
THE WOLF....THE GRIZZLY......THE TREES.... WHATS NEXT .......THE BREEZE.

He walked with steel machines through
the killing fields ...a healing man
That's what it took to see the truth
A life in peril.....for a hiking man

The grizzlies and the mountains
he's chosen over the hunters path
That's where the journey started
from laying down his brothers wrath

Abbey ......Doug drove the dozer
over the edge of the canyon
Old Peacock has a wind driven soul
lives with total abandon

I used to dislike the the treehuggers
gravitated to my dad the logger
Take a son of a soldier and give him thought
he becomes an instant blogger

For the soldier .......there lies a rifle
for the logger......he owes the company store
The hunter stands ....sights on the bear
can he still kill one more

Doug ....we all travel with you ....walking in
silence behind your shadow
A nation stands completely in flux
chosing right now.... standing in the meadow

The loggers log and the dozers doze
Please god strip this earth of man
He knows he's gonna ruin everything
even the steel machines understand

I stood once ....a grizzly staring me down
would he kill me ....and die in vain
No danger in this environment .......
behind the links of chain

READ THE STORIES OF "THE GRIZZLY YEARS" , OR ANYTHING ABOUT OUR  ENVIRONMENT.... DOUG PEACOCK IS A KNIGHT IN TARNISHED ARMOR......HE MEANS  WELL .....IS IT JUST YOU AND ME ...WHO LIVE IN  APATHY.... WHEN WILL WE CHOSE?

Perhaps it is apathy by choice. With the advent of "super farms" and feedlot animal "production" most of todays generation have NO CLUE about life, nature or the cycles that affect all of us. We are indeed a sad lot. I add my voice to your prayer that we be stripped from this earth for we do not deserve to have such control over something we care so little about in the grand scheme of things. This needed to be said my friend and you did it well. I hope more will listen and learn.

Hugs as always to you.

I was blessed with a childhood that included both the city and the country. I spent my summers on my grandparents homesteaded ranch in Wyoming and my winters in Cheyenne going to school. My mountains and praries are in my heart right now... I am returning there soon.

Take care of you!
