For the love of Rosie

Rosie

Rosie escaped the confines of my garden last Friday, and was struck by a car. The damage to her hind leg was severe, but repairable. She underwent surgery today having stayed with the vet since Friday afternoon. He rang to tell me that the operation had been a great success, not a problem with anything. They left her on low input of oxygen in her kennel and didn't check her often enough. When they returned to her she had died. All he could say was "Sorry". Now I am left with a broken heart and only memories of a truly beautiful little friend.

Rosie was four years old.

Rosie as I shall always remember her. She was the kindest, funniest and most trusting dog that ever owned me. RIP my dear sweet friend.

My Feelings Today

Her name was Rosie,

And to me, she was always true.

But God took her away today

And I don’t know what to do.

My heart is a gaping hole,

once filled lovingly by you.

My little black racer,

you knew how much I loved you

You were a precious gift,

sent to show me love.

Instead you stole my heart,

and got right into my blood

Why did that car have to hit you?

and the vet, he said you would be fine,

That huge heart of yours Rosie,

fought so hard, it is such a crime.

You survived the surgery,

the sedation too,

Then before the vet had realised,

God came and took you.

Now my life is empty,

And the tears sting my eyes.

You brought me lots of love,

a gentle dog to sit at my side.

Run now my angel,

the fields have no confines.

Race the hare and the rabbit

go and enjoy happy times.

Meet me at the pearly gates,

when my time is done.

I will wait with bated breath,

to feel your gentle tongue.

Rest in peace, my Rosie

for a short time you were true.

My dog, my friend, my angel,

I will never forget you.

To a beautiful little dog who shared my life for such a short time. God gave me an angel to share my troubled life, and then he took her away again, why?

I just want to reach out to each and everyone of you, who have left me so much love and support. I appreciate you all, but to answer each one of you individually at the moment, brings back so much pain. I hope you understand? Thank you from the bottom of my heart. xx

Oh Blue, I am so sad for you and Rosie. What a horrible nightmare you are enduring. Why? is a difficult question to answer. I hope in time you will be able to find comfort knowing that so many people are thinking of you and Rosie. Your poem is extremely beautiful and touching.

Irish,

I'm so so sorry. If you were crying when you wrote this, and I'm betting you were, I was crying with you when I read it and still wiping the tears while I type.

But, I smiled at the vision of Rosie chasing whatever might catch her attention, with no fences to bar her way, and for sure, no traffic to bring her down.

Thank you for sharing Rosie's memory. Once more, you've managed to turn a hurt into something beautiful.

Keeping you in my prayers that you'll find a smile for Christmas. If not, you're always welcome to share mine.

Love and hugs from across the pond,

femme

I am so sorry to hear you lost Rosie. Nothing can be said to ease your pain right now.

You shared some wonderful and happy times together, and you will carry the wonderful memories until you meet again.

God bless and reaching out with a great big hug my friend

Sweet Annette,

My arms reach across the ocean to hold you long and hard, cry as long as you need at this unfair life event.

Rosie was loved and will never be forgotten. May she play happily with Alvin across the Rainbow Bridge, until we can all be reunited.

Be gentle and go easy... Love and hugs, Maria

So sorry to hear of the unexpected and tragic loss of your beloved dog, Rosie. You've written a beautiful tribute to her and will be reunited one day but I know that doesn't ease the pain that you feel at the present time.

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
