"From Buffy, To Angel"
Quoted from Season 2, episode 5 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer:
Angel: "This isnt some fairy tale, when I kiss you, you don't wake up from a deep sleep and live happily ever after."
Buffy: "No, when you kiss me I want to die."
Poem dedicated to Buffy and Angel from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (TV series)
(Written as if by Buffy to Angel)
but only one beats inside.
But we both feel, touch,
We're both some how dead, yet alive.
In an instant you're here,
In a blink you're gone.
How can this feel so right,
But I know its wrong.
Your flesh is cold,
My skin is warm,
flowing with blood,
It will only do you harm.
But it was love from the beginning,
We both knew it to be true,
Though I tried to forget it
And forget about you.
You were a shadow in the night,
A cold gust of wind,
But with it you brought light,
Hope, a hand to lend.
You were there when I needed you.
You were always by my side,
Never far away,
Some where watching in the night.
I know that as long as you're nearby,
It doesn't matter what you are, what you've done,
I know that I'm safe,
You're like the bullet to my gun.
But you are good I know
And someone I trust.
No this is not a fairy tale,
when every kiss drives us deeper,
into a love we can not control,
into pure pleasure and happiness,
that takes away your soul.
No, with every kiss it gets harder,
to know that I can't have you as mine,
With every kiss,
I want to die.
Though we can not be together,
I will love you forever.
