From Sea to Shore

Time Will Tell

Whilst walking alone on the beach today, I thanked God for the peace and tranquillity that I experienced. Recently, walking alone along the shore has become a very important feature in my life. At this point I have to be honest, and say that the beach is not really on my fan list, preferring the mountain lakes, and forests. Nonetheless, what I experienced today was a welcome hiccup in my life. Sometimes comfort comes in many guises, and today comfort was all around me. Today was a great day to be alone.

The Mountains of Mourne

The granite sentinels

Absent Friends

The granite Mountains of Mourne stand like sentinels

over the majestic ocean for as far as the eye can see.

Today the breeze over the shore is strong,

and I turn my face to the fading sun,

grateful for the gentle caress of warmth from the golden glow.

The tide whispers “you are not alone,”

as I sit holding my knees below my chin, staring across the deep blue water,

I can see my bare toes clenching under the effervescing foam,

I remember that you like to see the pretty nails painted,

but today they are just plain, and I smile, melancholy.

The pebbles that adorn the shore line are tinged with blue and rust,

and the razor clams and crab shells lie vacant at my feet.

Along the shore I see you standing, straight, tall, proud,

and I walk towards you in the rising moon light.

I smile, and turn my face upwards to feel the gentle breeze once more,

whilst I bite my lip in anticipation of what is to come.

You smile at me now; your arms are open wide to invite my soul,

and I fall content against your chest and allow my hands

to firmly touch your skin, so strong, so many hard muscles, yet tender.

I kneel before you as the surf rolls over my legs,

but I am not ashamed of what I will do, and tease the zipper on your slacks.

My hands gently pull on yours and I stare into the succulent of my desire,

that I see before me, appreciating all that I am now.

You drop to your knees in front of me, and take me in your arms

you know that there is no turning back now.

Once again I look into those chocolate brown eyes of languor temptation,

and as your knees start to tremble, I am enveloped in your love.

“You are not alone” the breeze whispers once more,

“go and light a driftwood fire, and eat toasted marshmallows

late into the night”

Don’t look further, for your dreams will be reality to come,

all you have to do is believe that “you are not alone.”

For I am all encompassing around you, and holding you tight.

"Are you ready my love, for what the future holds?"

Oh net how can you say that you are just a sorrowful poet, you write the most beautiful poetry and some of the best I have read because there is so much feeling and emotion in it. I am smiling here because I wish I could write like you do :)) hugs

Rosemay, thank you so much hunnie for the lovely positive comment that you have left. I would love to be able to write poetry with a lighter element to it, and be inspirational like you do. I guess that I am just a sorrowful poet, but maybe one day my heart will sing just like yours. xx

Nell Rose, I am so happy for you to leave me such a warming comment. I tend to take life for granted sometimes, but never the beauty of nature that surround me. x

Brenda, thank you hunnie, for your lovely supportive comments. There are a couple of words placed in this poem that did hit my thoughts and I rushed for a dictionary to check them out, you are on the button as succulent is one of them lol I am trying so hard to bring my poetry writing up to a higher standard and I love receiving input such as yours. I truly appreciate your thoughts. xx

Hello poet friend. You did very, very well with this poem. At first I was not sure about the word succulent but after considering it, I think it is perfect. The reader is immediately drawn into the setting and the mood is great. again, wonderful job on this one.

Ruby, thank you my lovely friend for stopping by to support my poetry again. I enjoy the challenge, but I still have so much to learn to catch up with the many brilliant poets on HP. I have been "out of action" for a short time, but I am back now and will be catching up with you all.

As for walking on the beach again, hmmm I think that the forests have been neglected, so who knows? Nette xx

My sweet Annette you captured not only the beauty of the tides and the setting of the sun but you enticed us all with the the silence of your thoughts and the wanting in your soul. The approaching vision you painted with exotic and sensual colour to wet our lips and turn up the heat in our bellies. What an enjoyable moment to capture your imagery, the scents in the salty air, the sweat and muscles of your beau and the gifts you bestowed upon him your Prince. Voted UP, awesome, beautiful and if there was a HOT button I would wear it out. Brilliant piece.

This is so very beautiful, I especially loved the the first half, it touched something deep in me, something about being alone with the gentle power that is nature. Just awesome.
