From Whence I Draw My Fire

Where does it come from

let me explain

mortal though I seem

with immortal pain

passion unrequited

on the verge of tear

yet never falling over the edge

at times in madness sublime

anything can happen

more then enough time

nothing can hurt me

power supreme

danger to the wind

What is the matter with me

In between

am I going up or down

what to do

to whom

awkward in indirection

At peace

rarity in form

so rare in my hands

without purpose ready

a pleasure to sit

observe, think

sometimes no thought comes

a pity really

a danger

but often with none but cower

no target to rip apart

so I will sit and brood

glare at the wall

bad attitude

So where do I get it

poetry in form

full of words

some say wisdom

madness gone all wrong

When time and its parts

have their way

demons or angels have their say

I am still here

to tell the tell

I learned how to explain

to show how things fell

getting up again

no worse for the ware

for ware again

the same

Perhaps the seed is inside

or external from my soul

observations here in life

words I can't control

yet more are added on

every time i meet a kindred

or even argue with a foe

examining life in verse

free to say as I please

nothing binding my pen

only my aesthetic eye

So my friends

as I began

what drives me to the ink

too full for words

so they must come out

life's passion

fait accompli

nice poem!.....its true that~

Sorrows from heart deep,

tears that eyes team

Suppressed fire beams

Mingles together well,

explodes out at times

to rise a Poetic stream !
