From Where I Stand

From where I stand, up here on this branch

It ain't that far to fall

So, go ahead, push me nearer to the edge

Pull that noose a little tighter

And see if I don't jump instead

Before I have nothing else to lose

Everything okay? This is a short, but to the point piece. thought I would poem a reply.

Life is short, life can be lonely,

but that is because others spout a lot of baloney.

There is always a light,

that keeps us from flight.

Although sometimes sad and slow to start,

only means you have heart.

And with heart, you cannot go wrong.

Because I know. Within you. There is a beautiful song.

That's a beautiful reply, RealityTalk. Thank you. Yes, I'm fine. Not suicidal or anything. Just a poem. :)

shan,

This is excellent... can you really say anymore than what you have in such few words? I should be careful, as I don't want to cause an intervention from other hubbers... but I don't think I could 'get' this poem any more than I do today!

Tragically beautiful!

Good golly! No intervention necessary; it's just a poem!

No... for me! :D ... it is a gloomy, gloomy day :-(

I will be back in a bit....

For the record people; like many others, Shan writes to write but it is not necessarily the story of her life (how's that for a disclaimer?) :D

Oh, dear :( I hope you can cheer up soon. I wondered if that was maybe what you meant by it. But, I didn't want to cause two interventions. haha

Anyway, you know where and how to reach me if you need me.

It's an all-too-clear message, dear Shan, disclaimers notwithstanding. It's amazing and I'm voting it up and appropriate adjectives. Hugs.

Shan,

Ah... the sun will shine tomorrow (well, according to my local forecast it won't actually be shining for another few days :-)

Two interventions? ha! :D

Hehe...well, try not to be too gloomy and let your sun shine instead, sis.

Well thank goodness for some of these lovely hubbers... like yourself of course! I will find some ray of sunshine :-)

I need to figure out how to make a 'sigh' icon :D lol

When you figure that one out, let me know! haha

There are days when it seems the noose can be quite tight as stress builds. Well expressed.

Sigh indeed . . .(sigh).. .hehe. . . .Hey, ladies, if I disappear for awhile, don't think I'm not thinking about you. Let's just say I jumped. But I'll be back when I can.

Oh, Kitty Cat. . ..not funny at all. Trust me. I shall see what happens. Maybe no jumping required, but things still might blow up in my face if this powder keg explodes. I know, I know...speaking in riddles. . . don't worry, though. It's all good. :)

Thanks for the vote up, Eddy. Hope all is well in Wales!

sigh

"good" - such an ambiguous word? . . . not. . . .

Nellieanna - to borrow some words from you, there is no problem! Much I didn't tell you and much I did, but it'll all be okay one way or another. Besides, it's even better when I shake the noose feeling and just BE in the moment. ;) Love you.

Almost "gallows humor" but with enough realism to be truly thought-provoking.

Short, but voted it up. Life can feel that way sometimes. Sad too...

Yes, short, but at that point in time, I had something to say and that was it. haha.. . Short, sweet, and concise. :D
