Fruit Salad: Sweet Haiku Poems

Dainty white blossom.

A secretive strawberry

is hidden within.

Silky satin sips

Swish and swirl in sturdy cups.

Take a crack at this.

Ruby-eyed vixen,

Crimson fire burns thy lips;

Kiss the fruit of heat.

Source

Evil desire,

Seduce me with your syrup

Of forbidden gold.

So tawny and tart,

Your stinging touch cannot hide

Mouthwatering tang.

Source

One, lone, blueberry,

A sugary sweet sapphire.

Do I dare pluck thee?

Overzealously

Zesty…crisp but please don’t crush

Or I’ll just be juice.

These are creative and good. I especially like the one about coconuts. The Old English words didn't work for me though, they seemed out of place and broke the flow.

I am going to look at your website now. Thanks, Hyphenbird.

I love Japanese poetry style such as haiku, tanka and senryu. I can relate following lines:

Evil desire,

Seduce me with your syrup

Of forbidden gold.

Great poetry. I liked the way you have garnished eatables with your words. They look more delicious to me now.

Lovely haiku. It is amazing how words can make these fruits come to life. :-)
