Genetically Speaking
Molecules that carry genetic instructions to every known species, or unknown,
Deoxyribonucleic acid, the substance in all living things to be unique, all alone.
Hereditary materials in each one, a special marker, their evidence is shown,
Whether from earth or planets in space, leave a footprint where all have gone.
Mankind may have evolved from microbes to an unfinished state, not renounced,
Perhaps from the beginning of time, the most reclusive date, to be announced.
A good guess at time, its precepts, all that human minds may do, this to depend,
May we surmise with each new sunrise, a visit to an earthen zoo, this we contend.
Genetically speaking, perhaps all in this infinite Universe, each are much alike,
A progression downward from giant elephants and whales, to the tiniest tike.
Could there not be a race on the sister worlds like ours, if we visit their planet,
Each one a model of earthen species, genetics transfused, to understand it?
Every kind of extraterrestrial to have been seen, a very similar genetic build,
Two eyes, a nose, mouth, four limbs, are as bipedal; all expectations fulfilled.
Are there planets too far, though thousands of lightyears away, not of a mold,
Is acceptance of stranger theories, each of an utmost plausibility, just as bold?
Is it much too hard to conceive from a distant star, we all were brought here,
Many species of this planet, alike, as apes to men, walking upon this sphere?
Did we evolve, or were we created using DNA, ancestors from another place,
Could we have been sent to this blue planet, from somewhere else in space?
Could there not be a grand creator of us all, giant creatures to the very small,
Then in honor of this graciousness, we bow, respect and band in prayer's call?
Might there have been a great and colossal explosion, then to start it all, to begin,
This to have shaped us each, and in a genetically ordered process, a fine origin?
