Ghosts in the Window

Each frame of the window I can see a ghostly image. These are my poems to accompany them.

Middle Top:

The Photographer's Ghost

I've heard the stories.

I've seen her pictures,

her work of photography.

This lady she was amazing.

But I've never
met

The face behind the camera.

I've only seen the ghost

taking photos of me

from the other side of the window.

Dedicated to Diana Matisz, the "ghost"
in the middle top of the window.

Top first corner:

Ghost With the Long Face

I do not know this face that haunts me,

long and burly, misshapen and morose.

I do not know this face

staring at me from the window...

With eyes fathomless,

dark and unseen.

What kind of nightmare is this?

What kind of dream?

Could it be the remnants of a ghost
staring at me?

Bottom first:

A Ghostly Night

Under a half moon she lies,

weary and tired,

broken and bruised,

lonely and confused.

Her head hangs low,

her face doesn't show

Her long black hair

protects her there.

But you can still see her pain,

through her body gone lame.

She haunts this night,

with such sadness and fright.

A poor young girl

rid herself of this world.

A ghostly night,

to commit suicide.

Third top:

Ballerina's Ghost

A lovely little dancer,

she was a vision in pink,

twirling on stage,

not missing a beat.

She often lost herself,

deep in her dance.

She'd forget where she was,

but never her stance.

Ballet was her life,

she'd get so carried away,

and one day she danced

too close to the edge.

Now she's a vision,

on the window glass.

Bottom Last:

The Shadow Ghost

There are monsters in this world,

some are easy to see

others are straight out of nightmares,

and this one is from your worst dreams.

He is a shadow,

tall and dark.

his bite much worse

than his bark.

He has no face,

no ears, no eyes, no nose.

He is pure darkness,

in which evil flows.

He feeds on your fear,

while you sleep at night.

And if you were to awake

you'd find yourself in a terrible plight.

For anyone who lays eyes on him...

Never sees again.

Bottom Middle:

The Imaginary Friend

Not so much a ghost,

but a troll is he.

My imaginary friend,

Pimpy Wongstoppins Lee.

He stands 3 inches tall,

can you see him there?

Standing on the windowsill

without a care.

He's green

and he's sly

and he's quite a lady's

kind of guy.

But he drinks and he lies,

and he smells of something fowl.

He keeps me up at night,

he's such a night owl.

He tells me dirty jokes,

and curses up a storm.

I'd have to admit,

he's not quite in the norm.

I guess you can say

that he's haunting me,

my imaginary friend,

Pimpy Wongstoppins Lee.

(based on a fake imaginary friend I said I had, he was green, and 3 inches tall and sat on my shoulder and he was a bad influence lol)

Such beautiful poetry, I had difficulty deciding which I liked the best, but I think it has to be 'The Imaginary Friend' or 'The Ballerina's Ghost'. :-)

Love the Pimpy Wongstockings Lee poem, and the Ballerina's Ghost, but they are all great Nikki. This hub is so well done and a great idea. 3rd top, bottom first window panes look ghostly to me. Voted up.

Thank you all so much. Minnetonka, pay close attention to the middle top pane Diana herself is in the picture with her camera :) The rest i saw like looking at clouds and you see shapes in them, i saw shapes of each "ghost" I wrote about. Jodah the Pimpy Wongstoppins one was a harder ghost to make out but then i noticed the shape of a strange little man, kind of troll like like the little toy trolls they used to have with the long hair and I remembered my made up imaginary friend Pimpy. lol

Wow! I loved them all, I tried to pick out a favorite, but it's truly captivating. Each poem pulls you and pushes you. Wonderful work of art, it's dark, it's raw, it's balanced. It's, different. Truly amazing!
