Give Up to Keep Your Smile

I guess I would never understand---even how much I search for answer

----Even if I put all my strength and heart to let you appreciate me---

The answer would always be impossible—

-----Tears became my best friend

------The part of healing to ease my pain---helped just a little

But enough to keep up my faith

I thought I had always done the right thing

A good daughter to keep good family names

----Offer the best I could give; but I realize I was not on your page

I don’t know how else to make you happy, but now I give up to keep your smile

I’m just going to do what makes me happy

----even if it continues to break my heart, not knowing why you pour hatred upon me

Such painful sentiments, but beautifully expressed. It's a terrible thing when the people you have striven most to please simply cannot be, no matter what you do. You just keep being you. :)

You express it so well. A touch of frustration I think.

It is very frustrating when you strive to make someone happy or proud, and you can never please them. In the end, sometimes it is necessary to just do your best, and make your own self happy. This is well put. Thanks for sharing this with us, Chanroth.

I have never read anything by you before, but I was checking out someone else's poem, and this one caught my eye.

Have a wonderful day!
