Grim reaper; there's a thousand of you's
Keep an eye on every move that I make, I don't want to be the victim of scathing attacks. I start to wonder what should I do? You aren't just one, there's a thousand of you's.
My inner voice whispers, "Endeavour to hide the pain," I shake my head in refusal, "Not anymore, it ain't the same."
I'm trembling with the burden that makes my knees go weak, everytime I try to follow my heart, you control my mind with your tricks. I try to find my solace but it's nowhere to be seen. Here beings the war, excruciating agony.
You are the grim reaper in disguise & you aren't just one there's a thousand of you's, holding scythe behind my back, leaving me devastated from the calamity, caused by your tornado of whacks.
You press it deep down inside of my skin, if you think that's enough to stop me, you're absolutely mistaken, love. I ain't fragile like I used to be.
My soul's stronger, I gathered all the shattered pieces of me, glued together, I filled in the cracks with believe & I'm not gonna withdraw, I'm stronger than I've ever been.
You held me back, wouldn't let me make it through, the fear of getting hurt was settled within me, now I am taking back my life from you, wings attached to my back, I am free.
You're the grim reaper in disguise & you aren't just one there's a thousand of you's, go on try stabbing a thousand knives, I'm titanium, faith rejuvenates me overnight.
My wounds don't feel a thing, you want to hear me cry like before but I won't inveigh this time, now it's time for you to hear me roar.
My body is numb, I am surviving somehow, with the hope you tried to kill once, has transformed into wings now.
You're the grim reaper in disguise & you aren't just one there's a thousand of you's, and tonight I ain't gonna be your prey, let's see who wins the battle now.
