Blossoming unseen...unheard...

Grinding away silently .....two hearts
unknowingly wear away ...one upon the other
In silence and in the comfort of sharing
or not ......no longer yearning to smother

Who gave it up first ......or last
which is the weaker in strength
Doesn't it even matter......or doesn't love
multiply width by length

Even the children know the difference
though they know not the cost
As if in the dieing of summer
comes the killing frost

But wait........what lies beneath the
deep and driving snow
Therein the warmth of deep earth
what seeds did you sow

Becoming friends years later ......
after the love becomes obscure
Well into the seasons of gardens
seeds born of chance for sure

One small bloom aside from the rest
a forgotten seed blown by winter winds
Thrown in a corner of the garden
might just forgive all previous sins

Good morning Horseback,

This was truly beautiful. I loved the last line so much.

"Thrown in a corner of the garden

might just forgive all previous sins"

Sometimes love does forgive a multitude of sins and always a chance for new growth..and with time something beautiful grows where once was barren ground.

Thank you! Up and beautiful

Sunnie

What a glorious read this morning! So many lines are revealing and beautiful. "Even the children know the difference though they know not the cost" But they sure pay. And that one seed still holds a future full of life and love. Thanks for the inspiring read.

Poetic father of mine! I really happy you let us to hear your mind. In a line or two, you wrapped beauty into one. In 3 lines or four; it become a wonderful gift which praising; me, us, and everyone who loves art of words. Keep it shine! Keep it shine! Sad, happy, anger or dull emotion, let it just shine! Big hug for you!

Blue Star , there is far too much bitterness and self inflicted pain out there , and in some of the most beautiful souls too, what do we gain for ourselves by that. I allowed myself these very things for years , and what do we have to give in that state ....very little. Life passes us by quickly , too quickly and all that we do in such negativity is lose that time . When serenity first knocked on my door in small ways I became addicted to it's teasings. And now chose serene over regret, and peace over bitterness. thanks for 'listening' to my writing.

Your poems speak reality, so very deep and beautiful, but oh, so real. "No longer yearning to smother" So many relationship struggle, as control seems to be the motivator. Give up the "Grinding", surrender and let be. I love your words, ahorseback.

Marellen, Of course it can again, my friend, And I believe with time alone comes a new intensity. Our thirst for love becomes something much more appreciated. I wish it for you! :-}
