HEAVEN KNOWS - A Short (Short) Story (Time)

Eternity is endless....timeless.

Time is short there on Earth.

Arrival time? Whenever it happens to you.

One of the easiest adjustments made by newcomers to Heaven is the adjustment to "time" here.

Realize that no newcomer arrives with a watch----even a Timex.

No one asks "What time is it?".

Eternity is timeless. We don't have to contemplate that "time is running out".

Sports contests go on until everyone has had a chance to participate and move on to something more heavenly. While games could be endlessly repeated, there are enough clips of games back on Earth to satisfy any lingering desires for what were called "instant replays", though there are no such "instants" here.

While back on Earth one might have said such things as "It's time to leave" or "It's time to get dressed and ready". Here there is "time" in abundance, and
"watching the clock" is a thing of the past, as there are no clocks, chimes, or alarms going off.

If anything, it is always time to do the right thing, never time to do the wrong thing, and we are always productively busy, never tired, and eternally flexible.

We have ample "opportunities" (not time) to grieve, pray, meditate, sing or hum joyously, and to love unconditionally.

You will see. At least all of us hope you will.

Yes, an interesting, amusing idea which does indeed give us food for thought, when we have time! Ann

We each have all the time God allows us, even perhaps time to think about time in Heaven. Certainly it is not a waste of time to think about what we can do, and what we can repent of and make amends for, in order to try to one day be there with God.

What a wonderful thought to never watch a clock again and I am sure we will be aware of changes in the day just through our spirit and we will never tire and need to sleep but move on from one beautiful thing to another. Heaven could never be justly described but you have given us a small clue. Thank you. Up and sharing.

In other words..."Time is on my side...when I get to the other side". Good one Perspy. Yes, we do have a tendency while we are alive to always keep track of time.

Voted Up & Interesting.

Jackie Lynnley - Is there work for us in Heaven? If not, what have we learned and experienced all this for? Do we picture angels working, even working hard? Where will we stand in relation to them? Serve also as angels? Sit around and watch them work? "Earn our wings" so to speak? "Time" to think about that while there is still "time".

b. Malin - I just wrote a Hub on comnpassion and more to think about here and now. Could it be our conscience that has us keeping track of time?

Amen! Well said and well-written. It's hard to comprehend not being on a time-schedule. However, it's something to look forward to.

"We have ample "opportunities" (not time) to grieve, pray, meditate, sing or hum joyously, and to love unconditionally." Beautifully stated! :-)

I ove it. Here on earth we are always worried about time. How nice it will be to forget all about it.

mours sshields, Genna East, and aviannovice = Angels may have to at least be aware of the events we get ourselves into, in order to do their thing in "a timely manner"! I'm glad the three of you and others had your thinking caps handy for this short short. Thanks for your comments.

Could it be time to think about time again....before it's too late?
