Haiku to the Duke

Here's to you, Mr. Wayne.
Here's to you, Mr. Wayne.

No common actor,

His strength shown, was the factor

Wayne, the man portrayed,

He walked the tough walk,

In his talking, did not balk,

His honesty was displayed.

Bite, as bad, his bark,

in movies he made his mark,

History, he made.

Memories, in minds,

Made the theaters, fun times,

there, fond times have stayed.

I see your artwork on the wall in the photo. It's nice to see you sharing your talents everywhere you step, breathe and write.

Great! My granny was a huge fan of the Duke. She had every movie he'd ever made and posters, pictures and memorabilia galore. Her favorite piece was a gun he had used in one of his movies. ( I couldn't tell you which, I was only a kid when she got it and it has since made its way to my cousin.) She was a big fan of his and I was a big fan of hers so that makes me a fan of his, too :) Thanks for reminding me of a precious memory.
