Halloween ( a Haiku)

Creepy critters, assailing...

Ghostly encounters...

Spooky sights prevailing...
Spooky sights prevailing...

Spooky holiday,

Halloween, its ghostly scene.

Spirits, visiting.

Pumpkins carved, grinning,

Fond trick-or-treats, beginning.

Costumed kids, greeting.

Chilling breeze, bright moon,

Wind's accompanying tune.

Haunted house, creaking.

Leaves crunch under foot,

Squirrels storing one last nut.

October's, fleeting.

October's fleeting...
October's fleeting...

You've captured the atmosphere so well here, whonu. Even though I'm not a fan of celebrating Halloween, I like this because it's about the time of year more than the crazy bits!

Great Halloween haiku, whonu. I can almost hear Vincent Price reciting this to some spooky, creaky music.
