Having Faith is Believing

Gary the church caretaker
Was coming round the side of the church
He’d had a long day
The evening service was over
And he wanted to go home
As he neared the front of the church
He noticed there was a strange glow
He came to the front
Stopped and stared up at the starry sky
There bathing the church in it’s light
Was one large guiding star
While all around it the other stars
Twinkled like tiny diamonds up above
This sight so inspired Gary
That he looked up the hill
Toward Pastor Tom’s house
Wondering if he should inform him
Of this wondrous star
It was at this moment that he heard
The cry of a baby
Gary spun about and yanked open the church door
In surprise he saw the large chandalier blazing
The baby’s cry sounded once more
Like in a trance Gary looked toward the altar
There before the cross
A young couple was on their knees
The young woman held a newborn child
Beside them stood Pastor Tom
He noticed Gary and then he said
I was about to call you
This young couple had gotten lost
And when they came to me
I brought them here to the church
Before I could help them
Their newborn son came into the world
That was when Gary like thunderstruck
Fell upon his knees
He crossed himself
In the true faith of his religion
Because he had a feeling that this was something that had happened before
And was beginning anew
