Rain continues but it doesn't matter!
I am in the garden, sitting on a bench,
warming myself in the sun.
Winter’s morning and it’s a Sunday,
Inside the house no fun.
How long can you sit near the fire
and ignore the bright sunshine?
So here I am out in the garden,
Staying here I feel fine !
Morning’s newspaper I begin to read,
a cup of hot tea in hand, tastes so good !
My body is warm ,both inside and outside,
I am in a jubilant mood.
All of a sudden clouds appear,
they thicken and cover the sky.
A lovely morning takes a sudden turn,
With sadness I heave a sigh!
It starts to drizzle and in seconds
comes the heavy rain.
I run for home, hold newspaper over head
But my efforts go in vain !
Totally drenched I get in the house,
wipe myself dry, clothes I change.
Shivering in cold I sit near the fire
and say to myself ‘ How strange !
a few minutes back I didn’t like this fire,
I wanted to be under the sun
and now to have home’s comfort near fire
I had to make a run !’
My baby son stars combing my hair,
Up on my lap he stands,
I let him do it and I enjoy the comfort,
feel his tiny soft hands.
My wife comes, she has smile on her face,
brings me a fresh cup of tea.
While I have my tea , my son drinks milk
sitting on the couch beside me.
We watch the rain through the glass door,
We chat, have fun and we play,
Rain continues, well it doesn’t matter,
At home we are enjoying the day !
