He Knows - A Poem

He Knows (Written 10/30/11)

Jesus loves me
This I know
For the Bible
Tells me so

Yet the Bible
Has no pulse
It can't wipe my tears
Or hold me close

Faith can not keep me
Warm at night
Can't mend my heart
Or make it light

Without a heart
Am I dismissed?
No, Jesus loves me
I know this

The voice of God
I may not hear
I may be broken
And in fear

I may not know
The reasons why
I may feel lost,
Alone, and cry

I may feel Angry
Throw my fist up
Rip my hair out
Want to give up

Thru all of this
The truth remains
That God knows me
He knows my pain

He knows the hole
That can't be filled
That getting up
Each day takes will

He knows the nightmare
That I face
He knows this love
Can't be replaced

He knows my name
He sends me grace
I'll take my time
And find my pace

So the Bible
Said it true
If Jesus loves me
Then he must love you

You are very welcome Marjatta. You can email me if you ever want to. The best thing about email is that it doesn't matter the time zone or the time of day since sleep is tough for most widows.

Wonderful! Voted up and many other votes except funny. I love how the poem starts with Jesus loves me, then veers from that rhyme to exploration, then back to its original premise of Jesus Loves Me. Love it. Going to have to share this one!

Great poem... God will always love us; even we turn our back on him. He will be and always there to love us, to guide us, to protect us, and to lead us in the right direction.

This is another of your awesomely beautiful poems. Going from familiar to new and then back to familiar, it weaves us through all of your emotions. Very well done.

Victoria Lynn... :') I have never been shared before. I am not even sure I know how it works besides its obvious meaning. I am so flattered and touched. Then on top of all of that, you shower me with all these compliments. I am truly humbled and in utmost appreciation! This journey has me teary on a regular basis for all sorts of reason. Tonight I leak from the joy that you have brought me.

THANK YOU!

Wow, Moms-Secret--it's my turn to be humbled by YOUR words. (As far as sharing, I hit the "share" button at the bottom of your hub, then the "share with followers" that came up, so that it goes to all my followers' walls.)

I have been teary-eyed for one reason or another all evening, and you led me there again. I've read your profile and what you're been through; you have every right to be teary on a regular basis. You are poetic even in your sentence "Tonight I leak from the joy you have brought me." I'm so glad that I found you!

Vvaleed Thank you for reading and commenting on my poem. You bring to my attention something I was not aware that I was doing. More food for thought for me. I appreciate it. Having other things to think about is a good thing once in a while.

Hi MONDKILL, so nice to see you again. Thank you for reading my work and commenting again. It is sometimes hard to feel that love but it doesn't change that I believe it and choose it!

Hello BECKY. You are so faithful and kind. I love the comfort there is in a familiar face and written voice. More beautiful words of encouragement from a new beautiful friend. Thank you.

Many are our losses as experienced through love; our only true solace is in His love, for it is through Him that our love and, therefore, our purpose are defined and executed...

Nice to meet you Michelleernst. I have to say that I loved your comment. How reassuring and strong. I will have to remember to revisit it when I needed. I tend to do that with a lot of my friends who encourage me threw hub pages.

Great poem speaking of a great truth. No matter what our circumstances may say to us, there is One who loves us unconditionally. No matter how we feel or what we face, that love does not change nor diminish.

Enjoyed your poem immensely. Voted up.

God is love and God does not change. He delights in us as his children and it brings Him joy to keep us at rest. Thank you for all the truth you put in your poem.

along with many others but she wasn't when I wrote this. Besides, the only role she played in this was the singer.
