He cried like a baby ........a poem

I find myself only writing because its
something I have to do
You know how it is ......
But tonight I watched a man cry
at a death of loved one
I am never much surprised yet
only when
He quickly wipes away the tears
man to man
Tears aren't the same
No ......man is supposed to be
the rock
Supposed to be a column
that never comprises the
the boardwalk
The core of the earth that
never lets lose the
surface of Eden
Although tested much he
will not cry
Be tough
be strong
they need you
Right !
So here is my message
Cry .....
go ahead and cry
Cry like a river
Cry until tomorrow
Cry until there's nothing left
nothing at all
it can only be the right
thing to do
I curse a culture that denies
a man his very sense
of emotion
I have found that place where
it's okay .......
it's okay to
And do you know what ?
I can still be the rock
the stone
the core of the
very earth
You want to cry
you go ahead and cry
Cry all you
want to
need to
crave to

And when you are done and
there's nothing left
Not one emotion
not one sense of
Not one person who waits
until you
until you are done
Before excusing themselves

You will know one thing........
.......t's okay to cry
Just as much as it's okay
to laugh
to be angry
To be docile
or dominant
strong or sterile
Depressed or
It's just okay to cry..........

real men DO cry! any woman who thinks it's unmanly - is unWOMANly!

But, me thinks it's like you say - men are ashamed amongst men as well!

i don't want no column that don't cry...ohhhh noooo..

( i think this should be a song...lol)

cry, column, cry...

(your turn...)

you know i adore you, yes?

“Heaven knows we need never be ashamed of our tears, for they are rain upon the blinding dust of earth, overlying our hard hearts. I was better after I had cried, than before--more sorry, more aware of my own ingratitude, more gentle.” ― Charles Dickens, Great Expectations

Damn straight! It's okay to cry and men are humans too, you know. So, why not? Weeping can make you feel better afterwards. So, just cry it out loud MAN! :)

Hope all is well with you my friend...I've been MIA lately but now catching up again.

Love from the sky~

A brilliant poem Ed and what a wonderful message to share !!!

I vote up and share all you say because of course you are spot on and everyone should leave those tears flow every now and again. It's what shows true character and true strength.

Voted up.

Some say real men wear pink, well I say real men cry. I hate when a man has to act all tough or is afraid he will look like a pussy to his friends or for whatever reason, you are a human being, man or woman, and you have feelings, express them, talk about them, don't be this closed off, hard, empty shell of a person. That is not a man, that is someone who has a lot of growing up to do, and is emotionally challenged. It is perfectly alright to cry, especially at a death of a loved one, or in any situation where you feel sad enough to cry. Hell, I cry when I get upset, I cry at movies and tv shows, sometimes I'll cry for no reason at all, just because I feel sad I guess. But I am a woman and that makes it ok? It's your party and you can cry if you want to. but lets try laughing instead, I hate being sad...

So true....crying in itself is healing. It's a shame that some men are taught to not show their emotions. I can't imagine never shedding a tear. I think that a man who can "feel" and can "cry" is stronger than a man who is afraid to actually feel what it is that he's feeling. If you can't cry when you are feeling grief of any kind how do you possibly feel all the joy that comes along with love and feel free to express that ?!?

Dexis , I agree with that !I have found that in these years it becomes easier to cry although it happens at the weirdest times .lol.......ed
