He was Known as the Ripper

He would not sleep,

He was a man of less

Than respectable variety,

The kind with secrets to keep,

He was a comely sort,

His temper short,

And his spirit low,

His hatred would grow,

What he caught from the corner

Of his eye,

Were flies covering a mound,

Something he couldn’t identify,

It was a body with sunken sides,

And rotting flesh still stretched

Over the bones,

Then it all came rushing back,

It was the result of an assault, an attack,

She was an evening girl, who ran away,

He gave chase

In a staggering ground eating pace,

He killed that woman,

During the night,

While pitched black,

Twisted her neck until it would crack,

He was known as the ripper,

But his mother still called him Jack.

Jack; yes..... a very twisted individual indeed, it's hard to imagine that he also had a mother.

Brilliantly executed as always :).

I like Faith Reaper's comment about needing a "terrifying" button. :-)

I agree that the last line is an excellent hook. The varied rhyming schemes keeps it interesting and the pace is great too! ~Lurana

Frank,

"...Then it all came rushing back, It was..."

I appreciate your hubpage collections, this serial killer obviously, as usual had a psychological condition, and you indicated that well...

You have written well on something I don't read much about; but how you present the written account is very accurate and the reader gets a very clear picture of what is happening. Good examples of writing.

I have spent many years working with people in all capacities of weakness and strength. I have some training in psychological conditions, but most of my studies are from years of independent reading. My degrees are Elem Ed. Spec. Ed and Comm Arts and Sciences, so I've had some training.

As an educator, freelance (yep no $ pay, but there are rewards )if you can understand that (for about 25 years) I've always encouraged children, youth and young adults in my life to write as part of the curriculum- and I don't want to dampen their subject material, so your hubpages as I said are a good collection for me to "get familiar" with something outside of my stronger interests: serial killer stanzas!and stuff like that!

Truly thank you for fine writing on hubpages,

-pochinuk
