Heavy Heart, Weary Soul

My soul is weary of the pain.

My heart is heavy with hurt.

My body aches and is exhausted.

How much more, Lord?

How much more?

God, sin's weight on me.

My spirit drinks the poison of the wicked surrounding me.

They spew venom and filth

Trying to take my eyes from you.

My eyes are on you, Lord.

Help me keep my eyes on you.

My mind is fed to strangle

Your steadfast love.

Despair calls me from you.

Anxiety threatens peace.

In you, Lord, do I find solace.

Peace and rest only from you.

Reminiscent of what David wrote in some of his psalms. No matter who or what comes against us, we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus. In the end, peace will come and quietness of soul will take over.

Thank you SirDent for reading. I have spent quite a bit of time lately reading the Psalms. They are a source of strength for me. With Christ, we are able to overcome the uglies of this life. He grants such sweet peace.

" My soul is weary from the pain, my heart is heavy with hurt" I believe the Lord directed my path to these words so I can understand that I am not alone. Like the Apostle Paul, I constantly have to encourage myself because lately I have been waking up with a very heavy heart. The Lord has called me to exhort. Sometimes I just wish someone could uplift me. Your inspiring words did that for me this morning and for that I say thank you.

What a beautiful prayer to our Lord. We are all tempted with sin every day, every minute. It is comforting to know God is always there for us.
